For members

You never patrol alone.

Nobody joins The Patrol and goes out on patrol the same night. Every member works through the Patrol Academy, completes their vetting, and walks their first shift alongside people who have done it many times before. Everything you need lives in the Patrol Portal, on your phone.

Patrol Academy

Six modules, done at your pace.

Module 01

Welcome & Mission

Why the patrol exists, where the lines are drawn, and what people expect when they see the crest.

Module 02

Code of Conduct

How we speak to people, how we handle being provoked, and why stepping back is often the right call.

Module 03

Safeguarding

Spotting when someone is at risk — adults, young people, women and girls, rough sleepers — and exactly who to tell.

Module 04

Emergency First Aid Awareness

Awareness only: spot an emergency, call 999, keep the scene safe, reassure, and stay inside your competence. This is not a first-aid qualification.

Module 05

Legal Boundaries

What you can and cannot do as a member of the public on patrol: no powers, no searches, no detaining, and always in a group.

Module 06

Becoming a Patrol Member

Accept the digital Volunteer Declaration, clear the final checks, and collect your Patrol Academy certificate.

Patrol Portal

Your shifts, your training, your record.

The portal is where you finish registering, work through the academy, keep an eye on your DBS progress and say yes or no to upcoming patrols. It saves as you go, so you can stop halfway through a module and pick it up on the bus. Install it on your home screen and it behaves like any other app.
